Hi all. I’m going through a tough time, September last year a very close loved one passed away then January this year another very close loved one passed away whom I was caring for before she passed, she was like a mum & nanna to me from the very day I was born, they both were actually, they were my two great aunty’s, two beautiful sisters whom my mum, sister & I were extremely close to. Also April 30th was 10 years since my dad passed to suicide. For the past year or so I could feel depression slowly creeping in as things were tough & now I’m struggling to get out of bed at times & struggling to leave the house at times. I’m doing the best that I can with my coping mechanisms but some days are just unbearable. I do also have another personal issue going on on top of it all & my already mental illness issues don’t help

    Hi Casey,

As @Moon said you are with friends ..we are here for you to talk.

I’m really sorry to hear that you have lost 2 very loved ladies in recent times, along with the 10year mark of the loss of your dad.
You mentioned you felt depression creeping in, did you ever consider visiting a counsellor for help or reaching out to your GP (they can refer you to specialist that are trained to help with depression)? Sometimes it really makes all the difference to just get a little bit of techniques and advice to navigate those deep valleys.

For me personally I find when it gets really heavy I try my hardest to do one thing a day for myself that is kind – be it something little; like a nice hot drink / hot bath etc.

Really hope you will keep talking to us …know you are not alone.
    Big hug

I have been seeing a psych for years & I’m always touching base with my doctor so I do have amazing support system. Some days are just unbearable & this week iv really been in struggle down. Iv been doing one kind thing for myself each day & I’m finally starting to feel abit better especially after managing to do a workout yesterday even though it was hard to do it definitely helped. Thankyou so much again

    Hi Casey

It is so wonderful to hear that you have been doing one kind thing for yourself each day. You did a workout (hooray!) and it’s really great to hear that it helped you! Exercise can boost our mood and help us feel connected to other people.

I would love to know about some of the other kind things you have been doing. Some people find it helpful to keep a list of things that make them feel good. If they are having a hard day, they have a menu of kind things to choose from 🙂

It is great that you have found support here – I hope you have found some helpful resources on the forum that Moon suggested.

    Keep taking care of yourself.

Thankyou VM-LAJM 😊 I’m feeling a lot better now. Depressive episode passed. Yes of course. So exercise, listening & dancing to music which is one of my fav things to do. Going for a walk in nature, by the river or the beach. Meditating & doing breath work. Body balance classes & many other dance type work out classes. Taking a relaxing bath with a candle lit & meditation relaxing music playing. Chatting with a family member or a close friend & spending time with them. Watching a funny movie or show. I have just started journaling also. Im a healthy eater & drink water only. That is a great idea to write a list of the things that make me feel good. I do have things off the top of my head but having a list is a really good idea so Thankyou! Thankyou all so very much for taking the time out of your day to comment, means the world to me ♥️
