Today Griefline received confirmation that the Hon Mark Butler, Minister for Health and Aged Care, has agreed to provide additional funding for our Helpline to continue operating in 2024-25.

The holiday season can be especially tough for those of us grieving, with feelings of sadness and loneliness often intensifying. At Griefline, we’ve been offering compassionate support for nearly 40 years. “December is our busiest month, with calls increasing by 89% this year,” says Louisa Smith. Our free helpline is available every day, including Christmas Day. We provide trained volunteers and online resources with tips for coping, like acknowledging your feelings, setting realistic expectations, and honoring your loved one.

Carer grief workshop
