Kate Cahill and Louisa Smith to drive future growth and innovation in their new roles as CEO and Director of Strategic Innovation.
Monday 30th September 2024
As Chair of Griefline, I’m proud to share some significant achievements and exciting developments within our organisation.
Over the past five years on the board, I’ve witnessed Griefline emerge as a leader in grief support. Thanks to our dedicated Executive team, we’ve established a robust model of care that helps a diverse range of community members on their grief journeys.
We pride ourselves on fostering resilience and connection, ensuring no one feels isolated in their grief. Our 40 years of expertise enable us to provide compassionate, tailored support and educate communities about grief.
In the last year, our free helpline and digital resources have assisted more than 100,000 people. We’ve delivered grief education to over 500 individuals, conducted more than 1,500 counselling sessions, and made digital resources available in over 100 languages, 24/7.
To build on these successes, I’m pleased to announce an organisational restructure that aligns with our achievements and future growth.
I want to acknowledge Kate Cahill and Louisa Smith for their exceptional leadership over the past four years. Effective October 1, 2024, Kate will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer, bringing her extensive experience and vision to guide us forward. Louisa will transition to Director of Strategic Innovation, where her expertise will help shape our strategic initiatives and community education programs.
On behalf of the board, our volunteers, and partners, I extend heartfelt thanks to Kate and Louisa for their dedication. We look forward to their continued leadership as we work to normalise grief and support mental health in our community.
Please join me in congratulating Kate and Louisa on their well-deserved promotions.
