Has anyone else been surprised to learn that Hawaii—yes, the tropical paradise—actually records real snowfall?
I was researching snow totals and found out that places like Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa can get measurable snow during strong winter cold fronts. It’s not common, but when it happens, the snow fall total in Hawaii can range from light dustings to a few inches during stronger storms.
I checked historical records on Certified Snowfall Totals, and it’s fascinating how snow fall in HI is tracked just like mainland winter storms. It really shows how extreme elevation can create completely different weather zones within a tropical state.
Has anyone here actually seen snow in Hawaii or tracked a storm event there? Would love to hear real experiences or data insights on snowfall Hawaii events. -
