Griefline has access to a free automated telephone interpreting service provided by TIS National.
How to request a callback with an interpreter
- Click on the pink button Request a callback with an interpreter
- Select the preferred day and time on the calendar and click ‘confirm’Â
- Insert the contact details, the reason for your call, state and the language of the interpreterÂ
- To confirm the booking, select schedule eventÂ

- You will receive a call from a Griefline support volunteer in conference with the interpreter
- The interpreter will tell you what the Griefline support volunteer said in your language
- You speak to the Griefline support volunteer
- The interpreter will tell them what you said in English
- The Griefline support volunteer will respond in English
- The interpreter will tell you what the Griefline supporter said, in your language
The callback is scheduled for 30 minutes. The interpreter will stay on the phone with you for the duration of the call. Â
I have trouble speaking and/or hearing
If you are deaf and/or find it hard hearing or speaking with people who use a telephone, the National Relay Service (NRS) can help you.
The NRS is a telephone and internet solution for people who have a hearing and/or sight impairment.Â
It is an Australian Government initiative, and you must be registered to use the service. For more information visit NRS Information.Â
You can utilise the services provided by the NRS to access the Griefline’s free telephone support services. Â
