Phone Counselling

GriefLine has been providing free telephone counselling and support services since 1981 and is Australia’s only dedicated grief and loss phone counselling and support service.

GriefLine has continued to grow and develop over the years and now in addition to providing ‘one off’ counselling and support telephone sessions, (where the caller would speak with a different volunteer counsellor every time they rang), GriefLine now offers six to eight phone counselling sessions in relation to working with, managing and working through grief and loss (working with the same counsellor). In addition to this, GriefLine also has a six to eight session telephone program working with insomnia, which has developed as a result of grief and loss, (also working with the same volunteer counsellor for the six-eight sessions).

Accepting the reality of any loss can be challenging and many people find the best way to work with their feelings is to share that with someone they trust.

Griefline provides confidential telephone counselling and support services to anyone in Australia, as GriefLine is now a national telephone counselling and support service. Our skilled, empathetic and trained volunteer counsellors are here to actively support and work with you in managing and working with your experience of grief and loss. Our services are available free of charge Australia wide, inclusive of remote, rural, regional and metropolitan Australia at no cost to the caller via our 1300 845 745 phone number. We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
