This partnership brings tailored resources, education, and safe spaces into clubs and teams — helping players, coaches, and supporters navigate loss, build resilience, and strengthen connection on and off the field.

Griefline is pleased to announce that three years of Commonwealth Government funding for our free nationwide grief support helpline has been secured.

Launching this August for Grief Awareness Month, Griefline invites you to take part in the 2025 National Grief Survey. Australians are encouraged to share their personal story to better understand how grief is experienced.

Griefline’s nationally accredited Helpline has received interim government funding to remain open until 30 June 2025. While this funding allows us to keep the Helpline running for now, the future remains uncertain. Whether you’re a service user, healthcare professional, workplace leader, or passionate community member, there are plenty of ways you can help ensure our essential services continue.
Today Griefline received confirmation that the Hon Mark Butler, Minister for Health and Aged Care, has agreed to provide additional funding for our Helpline to continue operating in 2024-25.

We are excited to announce the expansion of our workplace program to better support employees navigating the emotional challenges of grief. After two years of thoughtful development, the program now includes on-demand webinars and customised online, live training experiences, offering greater accessibility and a more comprehensive approach than ever before.

The holiday season can be especially tough for those of us grieving, with feelings of sadness and loneliness often intensifying. At Griefline, we’ve been offering compassionate support for nearly 40 years. “December is our busiest month, with calls increasing by 89% this year,” says Louisa Smith. Our free helpline is available every day, including Christmas Day. We provide trained volunteers and online resources with tips for coping, like acknowledging your feelings, setting realistic expectations, and honoring your loved one.
