What inspired you to start working at Griefline?

I have had the privilege of a long history of working with and supporting people in grief. These experiences have included witnessing the impact of many types of loss. I have been present in people’s homes and sat beside them in hospital rooms. I have also had the opportunity now to sit with people in a therapeutic space.

Most significantly, I have observed stories of hope in challenging moments and shared stories of love. These experiences have inspired me to work directly to support others in grief.

What are your qualifications and career highlights?

I hold a Bachelor of Psychological Science, Masters of Social Work and Masters of Counselling. During each of these programs my focus has remained upon the grief and loss experience.

I am now completing a PhD focused on grief and loss and how people experience their grief.

My career highlights include the time spent with so many remarkable people who share their grief story with me. I take such meaning from the opportunity to speak with organisations and community groups about how people can support each other in grief.

What are you passionate about in the grief and loss education space?

I am passionate about bringing conversations around grief into the every day.

Sharing grief is an important part of our presentations within the community.

When it comes to education in grief, I would like to see more conversations around how we can grieve, giving ourselves permission to be true to our own styles in grief.

When you are not working and educating, where will we find you?

When not working alongside clients, I can be found on the beach with two large dogs, exploring the outdoors and spending time with family.
