Griefline in the media

Earlier in 2025, the Griefline Helpline faced the threat of closure after the Commonwealth Government decided not to continue funding the service, sparking a powerful outcry from our service users, sector partners, and the wider community. In response, local MPs, mental health leaders, and everyday Australians rallied together, calling on the Government to reconsider.

Thanks to this groundswell of support, we prevailed. The Helpline regained funding and continues to provide free, year-round telephone support for grieving people across Australia.
