Common Questions from the Bereaved

A helpful guide for grief

Being bereaved after the death of a loved one can be one of life’s most difficult experiences. You are important, and support is available.

The Common Questions from the Bereaved: A Helpful Guide for Grief booklet was created by Melbourne City Mission’s Palliative Care Bereavement Team, drawing on the experiences and insights of hundreds of bereaved carers. It offers understanding, compassion, and practical guidance for navigating the many emotions and questions that can arise after loss — from “Why is grief so hard?” to “Will I ever feel okay?”

This valuable resource is designed to help you make sense of the often painful jumble of thoughts and emotions that accompany grief. It can be shared with family, friends, and support networks who wish to better understand the grieving process.
