Dear all,
I have been struggling with Mortality since the passing of my loved one 6 months ago.
I know mortality is subjective and everyone has their own take on it. But one thing I have learned from my loved one’s death is that nothing is concrete or goes as you planned it too.But I am worried I will be very underprepared as an “Adult” when my parents both pass. Ideally, they should have 20 years left.
I live with them and can’t financially put a roof over my head without them. And instead of pushing those thoughts away as I always have, I am dealing with them.
The anxiety is through the roof. I know you shouldn’t think about things before they happen, but I think I should be thinking about it NOW.
I don’t have a clue where to start.I still don’t know why life has to be so cruel, but I do know I will be saying goodbye to more loved ones. Animals don’t live as long as humans. And older humans should pass before younger humans.
Thank-you for listening,

Hi @abc01,
It’s perfectly understandable to feel anxious about contemplating the loss of people we love, especially so if we depend upon them for support. Perhaps that anxiety seems overwhelming. Imagining the worst can be upsetting. At the same time, it is not morbid or wrong to be planning and preparing for the future. I think you are very wise to be thinking it through, as when it has happened is difficult enough and is a very challenging time to start. Just getting some information about what might need to be done, or where to find people and resources to make things happen, can be a good way to help you feel more ready to take action if something goes wrong.
Perhaps just looking through the Griefline administration guide might give you a start.
I sincerely hope you don’t lose anyone you love anytime soon. At the same time, Griefline will be here for you in the event you need support, and it is better to be prepared than unprepared.
