    For many of us, the festive season feels more like a season of sorrow. Memories of those we loved but lost, or of a life we lived now gone, are brought sharply into focus. And while Griefline believes in honouring your loss and sitting with your grief, we also believe in honouring yourself with love and compassion.

    And carrying on the traditions your loved one adored or creating new ones in their honour can bring some enjoyment back into the season…you may even want to change those that are outworn.

    Traditions like;

    Reminiscing – re-creating your loved one’s favourite festive dish, sweet treat, or entire feast and bringing family and friends together to enjoy it. It’s the perfect setting to reminisce about that special person and a wonderful way to keep the memories alive and the connection strong.

    Giving back in their name – it is the season of giving, so help spread some cheer by donating to your late loved one’s favourite cause.

    Reach out to others – if you know someone who’s also struggling reach out and let them know you’re thinking of them. Posting on the forums would be a great start!

    Treat yourself – start a new holiday tradition and head out for your special lunch or dinner. Enjoy the extra time and relaxation of having a festive feast prepared for you by someone else ☺️

    So now it’s over to all of you our wonderful forums community – we invite you to share your favourite traditions here. 🌸
