    Hello everyone,
    Like all of you here I am reaching out for support to help me get through each day. Long story short; after 17 years together, 4 years married, 67 years young and the full time carer of my brother who has downs syndrome. Circumstances involving my granddaughter, which I prefer not to go into further, have led me into this dark space. I’m trying to understand how someone so kind, gentle and giving could cause s0 much pain and heartache. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I wish you all well as you travel your path.

    Hi @juliemaree, I just read your post and it sounds like you have a lot going on, and that its weighing on you. Have you considered ringing the Griefline and having a chat with someone there. It would be totally up to you how much you share, but it can be great to talk to someone outside the situation who has training and is a good listener. The number for Griefline is 1300 845 745 and they are there from 8am to 8pm: 7 days (AEDT). I hope things settle for you and wish you well on your path too.

    @juliemaree

    Hello there, @juliemaree!

    Thank you for sharing your feelings with us. It takes courage to open up about your struggles, especially when dealing with complex emotions. Your dedication to caring for your brother, despite the challenges, speaks volumes about your kindness and resilience.

    Life can be incredibly perplexing, especially when we encounter pain caused by those we care about. It’s natural to wonder how someone who seems gentle and giving could also be the source of heartache. Sometimes, people’s actions don’t align with their intentions, and it can be difficult to reconcile.

    Remember to practice-care and try not to blame yourself for this outcome.
