A generous donation from the Murrumbeena Community Bank® will be used to support the operation of our National Helpline and to continue the very important work GriefLine does to support children experiencing grief and loss.

As Australia’s only dedicated helpline service that provides counseling for people living with grief or loss the donation from the Murrumbeena Community Bank® could not have come at a more important time. With demand for GriefLine’s services growing and the emerging effects of loneliness and isolation in our community the funds will be used to ensure that we can continue to respond to those in need and experiencing crisis.

Chairman of the Murrumbeena Community Bank® Branch Dennis Tarrant said, “The Directors, staff and customers of the Murrumbeena Community Bank® are delighted to be able to support an organisation like GriefLine. They play a vital role in supporting and strengthening communities which is something that is at the heart of our role and purpose as a Community Bank.”

In responding to the announcement  GriefLine stated “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Murrumbeena Community Bank® Branch. Their support will enable us to transform the training programs for our Helpline volunteers as well as provide additional support for our highly regarded Children’s Program. This program provides a safe and caring environment that aims to empower children, build resilience and coping skills to manage life’s challenges.”

“We use age appropriate therapies such as play therapy or art therapy, with a professional counselor or family therapist to facilitate a tailor-made program suitable for the young person to explore loss and grief related issues.”

GriefLine relies on community support to deliver our vital national service for anyone experiencing grief or loss.
