Thanks so much for your reply. I do have some support, particularly from my wife who has been amazing and is my rock.

Do you know if there are others who have had similar experiences? I have searched for traumatic deaths, such as murders, unfound bodies, etc and their experiences seem kind of similar. I think I need to know that what my dad went through ie. the pain and the loneliness, is not an uncommon thing.
