Public Announcement: Organisational Restructure

Wednesday 7th October, 2020

The year of 2020 has presented many challenges for both GriefLine and the not for profit sector. Like many other NFP organisations, GriefLine has experienced exponential growth and with a more constrained funding flow due to current economic challenges, we have undertaken an organisation-wide review.

As a result of our extensive review, the GriefLine Board of Directors today announced a new innovative approach that we believe will be instrumental in supporting an efficient organisational model that is resourced and technologically enabled to support the growing needs within the Australian community.

The organisational structure and infrastructure review has been focused on the creation of a sustainable business operating model to ensure we can support our volunteers, meet our contractual obligations whilst optimising the expanding service offering of our growing GriefLine community need for support associated with grief, loss and trauma.

The restructuring decision is crucial in order to support the future succession line of the executive level of GriefLine, as well as creating clear lines of responsibility and accountability while operating within the parameters of the organisation’s current and future financial support levels.

Subsequently, we are seeking expressions of interest for the following roles:

  • Volunteer Support Leader – Full Time
  • Administration Office – Full Time to support the Executive Management Team
  • Chief Clinical Services Officer – 3 days per week
  • Chief Operating Officer  – 3 days per week
  • Chief Marketing Officer – 2 days per week

“The organisation review and subsequent restructure, was triggered by the increased demand placed upon our volunteer telephone counsellors as a result of natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Board Chair Sarah Godfrey.

“We are confident this new direction for GriefLine will support the way we resource and operate all aspects of the organisation, while responding to the growing number of Australians seeking mental wellbeing support.”

If you would like to apply for a role within the new structure, please forward your EOI to Board Co-Chair Nicky Mackie: [email protected] by close of business Thursday 7th October. Interviews will take place immediately, followed by announcements of new appointments later in the week. Job descriptions for each role are appended to this announcement.
