Public Announcement: New Appointments

Wednesday 19th October, 2020

Further to our organisational restructure announcement on 7th October 2020, the Griefline board is excited to announce the appointment of a new executive management, volunteer support and administrative team.

The new roles are effective as of Monday 19th October 2020 and include:

Kate Cahill – Chief Operations Officer

Kate joins Griefline following over 20 years’ experience in operational leadership roles with Caltex. Kate was strongly drawn to the role of COO as it brings together her experience and skills in operations and innovation with her desire for helping people and creating stronger communities.

Louisa Smith – Chief Marketing Officer

Louisa has an extensive background in media, advertising and marketing and has globally recognised qualifications in digital marketing. Louisa joins Griefline now as an employee after spending the past 9 months as a board member and has already been instrumental in the planning and development of the new Griefline online forums and community engagement platform.

Lella Zwiers – Volunteer Support Leader

Based in the ACT, Lella has worked across Disability Employment Services, Mental Health Support Services and NDIS School Leaver Employment Support. As a Griefline volunteer herself, Lella has a passion for the organisation and a depth of experience in office and systems administration, tech and project support, government, and events management.

Katie Tunks – Administration Officer

A Griefline volunteer since February 2020, Katie is passionate about the charter and direction for Griefline and brings to the team a depth of organisational and administration skills, and leadership experience to our team.

As demonstrated by today’s appointments, our new leadership structure has replaced the role of the CEO with three part time Executive team roles that we are confident will provide a balanced leadership and achievement of our future potential due to their consolidated knowledge and proven track records of success. This joint management structure replicates the Board Leadership Model of sharing our Co-Chair responsibility, currently held by both Nicky Mackie and Sarah Godfrey.

We are assured that the collective expertise and business acumen of the new leadership team will facilitate an organisational culture of collaboration and commitment. With the full-time support of both Lella as the Volunteer Support Leader and Katie as Administration Officer, we are extremely excited for the investment in the core infrastructure and support for our volunteers and our partners. In support of our newly focused collaborative organisational structure, the executive team will be reporting directly to the board.

We look forward to a stronger than ever connection and flow of information between operations and strategic direction, ensuring the facilitation and agility of our capacity to respond to the diversified needs of both our partners and volunteers.
