GriefLine Education Seminar
Thursday 1 June from 7:00pm to 8:40pm
Memories can play an important part in coping during difficult times according to Sister Patricia Williams, State Coordinator of GoodGrief.
“It’s easy to get bogged down by sad memories and feel miserable, while it is a help to feel better if we focus on happy memories,” Patricia Williams said.
Patricia Williams will be leading a GriefLine Education Seminar titled Memories and Psychological Impacts on Thursday 1 June.
“I get people to do an activity which proves how simple it is to focus on positive emotions which leads to an optimistic outlook on life”.
“I ask participants to tell me something good about themselves or a particular person, time or event. From this they build up a library of memories which can be called upon in tough times,” she added.
Speaker: Patricia Williams, State (VIC & SA) Coordinator of GoodGrief.
Patricia works with local trainers and coordinates training for Seasons for Growth in Victoria and South Australia and supports Companions through the Seasons for Growth network. Patricia has been a GriefLine volunteer since 2003.
