Introducing our new CEO Kaya Latage

We are excited to announce Kaya Latage as GriefLine’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Kaya takes over from founding CEO Catherine Cini who made a significant contribution to GriefLine over more than two decades.

Kaya joins GriefLine with more than 20 years experience working across a broad range of health, welfare, mental health, education and disability services. Throughout her professional career, Kaya has demonstrated a passion and commitment to leading, developing and implementing innovative and integrated evidence based programs across organisations in the government, not for profit and private sectors.

“We are delighted to have someone of Kaya’s experience join GriefLine as we expand our service nationally to meet the increasing demand for the support we provide.” said GriefLine Chair Russel Barnes.

When asked about what she is looking forward to Kaya said, “It is a privilege to have the opportunity to lead an organisation that is providing such a valuable service to the community. I am excited about working with the Board, staff and volunteers to establish GriefLine as a peak body providing essential support for people experiencing grief and loss.”

Russel Barnes will continue in his role as Chair of the GriefLine Board and have oversight of the organisations digital transformation, including the National Helpline and launching innovative approaches to training and developing volunteers.
