Volunteering with GriefLine

We are almost totally dependent on our volunteers of the service and feel strongly that we owe both them and the community the very best we can offer. We consider the recruiting, interviewing, selection and supervision of each participant to be of great importance.
The Loss and Grief Education Course, located in Victoria only, then prepares the Volunteers for GriefLine Telephone Counselling. This Course is also offered to other professionals who have to deal with grief-related stress in the lives of others.
The course offers each participant opportunities to:
- develop existing communication skills
- learn more of the process of loss and grief in its widest context
- become more aware of personal issues and perspectives relating to loss and grief
The course includes a percentage of non-volunteers from various professions. As well as developing an education arm to our services, it also provides some means of self-funding for the future of GriefLine.
To become a volunteer or to participate in the course, please fill in the registration form. We have also included a course outline for you. For any queries, please contact us. This volunteering is only offered to Victorians due to office/training rooms located in Melbourne. The course commencing in August 2009 is now full. We are now accepting applications for a course in February 2010, with orientation in December 2009. If you would like to be considered please fill in the form or call us during BH 03 9935 7444.
